Fox Run Mall, Newington, NH. Purchase "The Journey" to Benefit CVHS: Many of you may be familiar with a popular essay about loving pets called "The Journey" by Crystal Ward Kent. The piece was written in 1998, and has become quite famous on the Internet, now appearing on as many as 35,000 sites worldwide. It has been read on "The Today Show," featured in a book of essays by a Benedictine monk, sought by Cokie Roberts on the death of her dog, Abner, and is part of a worldwide candlelight vigil held every Monday night at 10 p.m. on www.petloss.com. Crystal Ward Kent is a local writer with personal ties to both Cocheco Valley Humane Society and the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Over the years, many people have written to her regarding "The Journey," and many have requested that the essay be reproduced in frameable form. This year, Crystal took that step and "The Journey" is now available as an art print, illustrated with art and photos. She is donating a percentage of all sales to CVHS and the NHSPCA.
