October is Adopt a Dog MonthPosted Friday, September 27, 2002 by cvhsDid you know that up to 60% of dogs that enter shelters die each year due to lact of adoption? Pet overpopulation and limited resources in local shelters are problems where you can help make a difference. This October, as a part of Adopt-A-Dog Month you can make a difference by adopting a dog. An older dog, a young puppy, or a middle-age mutt can also help and improve your own life by bringing endless love, loyatly and affection to you family.
If you are intrested in adopting a dog please visit the Cocheco Valley Humane Society. Thank you for your support.
Local Children Celebrate Homeless PetsPosted Wednesday, September 4, 2002 by cvhs- R.J. and Tyler along with their mother Donna Bolian of Rollinsford visited the Cocheco Valley Humane Society to deliver “birthday presents” of pet food, treats, litter, and gift cards to local stores.
Both boys added a new dimension to their birthday parties this year asking their friends to bring something for the animals instead of gifts. They got the idea from their mom who suggested that the boys choose between having a traditional party or helping out a local charity.
“They didn’t seem to mind going without some presents, and we were pleased that it was more important to them to help others. We’re hoping the idea will catch on.” Donna commented. The boys did receive a gift from the family.
