Chris’ Pets for Vets
Cocheco Valley Humane Society is proud to work with Chris’ Pets for Vets, a program of Annie’s Angels Memorial Fund, to help unite veterans with companion animals!
What is Chris’ Pets for Vets?
Chris’ Pets for Vets, a program of Annie’s Angels Memorial Fund, was created to honor the memory of Christopher Journeau and to help raise awareness about PTSD. The love of a companion animal can make a tremendous difference in the life of a vet, especially one who is suffering from PTSD. Chris’ Pets for Vets will sponsor part or all of the adoption cost of animals at Cocheco Valley Humane Society for veterans and active military members.
I’m a veteran - how do I qualify for the program?
To qualify for Chris’ Pets for Vets, please bring your military ID, DD-214, or DD-256 with you to the shelter when you come to adopt. Adopters must meet Cocheco Valley Humane Society’s requirements in order to adopt. Although Chris’ Pets for Vets are generously sponsoring part or all of the adoption fee, adopters must be able to provide food and vet care for their pet.
How can I donate to this program?
You can learn more about the program or make a donation on the Annie’s Angels website.
